Forum Post: 回覆:DNS Check cannot pass

Hi Kenny,

As we know, our client applications (like Lync, Outlook, Windows PowerShell or Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool) need to be authenticated to work with the online service provided by Office 365. This additional Office 365 CNAME record is used to point to the correct authentication endpoint for the user’s location, which ensures rapid authentication response times.

If this CNAME record is missing, it won’t affect the normal Office 365 service, however, these applications will use a default authentication endpoint in the United States, which may make the authentication slower.
For details, please see here: What’s the purpose of the additional Office 365 CNAME record?

In this case, we recommend you directly copy the HOST NAME value and the POINTS TO ADDRESS value, and then paste them in your DNS hosting provider to see if this record can be found by Office 365. Also, you can also contact your DNS hosting provider to get more assistance about adding this record properly.

Please note that typically it takes about 15 minutes for DNS changes to take effect. However, it can take up to 72 hours for a changed record to propagate through the DNS system. So please wait for a while to check the issue.

If there are any updates on this issue, please post back. We’ll keep monitoring it.

Thanks,
Charles
